Jeannie Dennard will present this Motivational Training Workshop to Help You Get the Most Out of Your Dog.

This workshop is for the obedience enthusiast at ANY level. Foundation skills necessary to be successful in

Novice, Open, Utility and beyond will be taught through positive motivation.

Workshop Goals - The “FUN” damentals:

  • Learn fun games and new tools. Learn how to use these tools for training the foundation pieces of the obedience exercises and how to keep your dog sharp throughout their entire show career.

 

  • Learn how to build the “right” training relationship with your dog. Attitude is everything! Learn how to build the “want to” in your dog before adding the “have to”.

 

  • Learn how to be an effective reward-based, balanced trainer.

 

  • Learn how to create the finished dog by building on success, not on failure.

 

  • Learn how to use praise, foods, toys, and corrections correctly to get the most out of your dog.

  • Learn how to solve training problems to keep you and your dog on the road to success!

ABOUT JEANNIE: Jeannie has been training dogs for over 40 years. She has been involved in several performance sports and earned numerous advanced titles in obedience, rally, tracking, agility, herding, dock diving and fields.

Jennie’s passion has always been for competition obedience. She’s earned ten OTCHs; four on Golden Retrievers and six on Border Collies.

Jeannie credits her success to a basic training philosophy grounded on the following principles: Attitude is #1; Building on Success, Not Failure; Reward-Based Training and Constant Focus on Fundamentals.

SCHEDULE: Saturday April 9th - Jeannie will cover all-important foundation skills including engagement, attention, heeling, fronts and finishes. These foundation skills provide a great start for anyone interested in competing in obedience.

Sunday, April 10th - Jeannie will teach Open and Utility skills applying positive proofing techniques.

Seminar hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building will open at 8 a.m. each day.

Beverages and snacks will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
