Gracy Hudson - FB Ad v2.jpg

At just 14 years old, Gracy Hudson is already making waves in the world of agility. Having been introduced to the sport as a baby—thanks to her grandparents' long-time involvement—Gracy’s love for dogs and agility grew naturally. Now, she’s not just attending trials but actively competing with her five year-old Cocker Spaniel, Mookie, and their bond on the course is undeniable.

Gracy has been training for over three years with the Talbot Kennel Club and Blue Heron Agility Dogs, where she’s become a fixture. Whether she’s running Mookie through jumpers or helping out as a ring crew member at events, Gracy’s dedication to the sport shines through. From being a timer to a leash runner, she’s learning all the ins and outs of what it takes to run an agility trial smoothly.

Her hard work is paying off. Gracy has already earned several titles, including a Master title in Jumpers with Weaves and a FAST. She also has earned a FCAT title in FAST CAT and a Canine Good Citizen, Advanced Trick Dog and Farm Dog title. She is currently competing at the Excellent level in Standard with Mookie. But for Gracy, this is just the beginning. She’s got her sights set on something bigger: achieving a Master Championship title for Mookie.  Gracy competed in the AKC Junior Invitational in Florida the past two years.  She earned a 3rd place title with Mookie and a 1st place title with her trainer’s dog Bragg.

Gracy recently attended a four-day training session with world trainers at BJAC (Junior Agility Camp) in Latrobe, PA.  It was days filled with learning new skills, meeting new friends from across the US, and competing on the last day against her fellow handlers.  Gracy earned placements with both Mookie and Bragg.

“I love dogs, and working with them is so much fun,” Gracy says, reflecting on what agility has meant to her so far. Beyond the ribbons and titles, agility has brought her new friendships and unforgettable experiences. Competing alongside her grandparents and their friend Renee’, she travels to nearby trials and even ventures out to Pennsylvania for events at Bella Vista Training Center.

With the support of her family, friends, and trainers, Gracy’s journey is just getting started. The road to Florida—and beyond—is filled with possibilities, and this junior handler is proving that with passion, hard work, and the right team behind you, the sky’s the limit.
